Inside Colyf, Lamp helps schools and universities work with the information and actions available to each signed-in person. It works in Colyf’s web and Android apps, within the selected institution.

For students and guardians

Students can ask about coursework they are allowed to access. Guardians can ask about an authorised child. A conversation does not grant access to another student, another institution or a new role. The information available to Lamp follows the signed-in account’s permissions.

For teachers

Teachers can work with their assigned courses, lessons, assignments, assessments and attendance through supported workflows. The assistant can answer from authorised information, ask for missing details or prepare a supported action. It does not replace checking important dates, names or academic records.

For registrars and school administrators

Lamp supports academic and campus workflows within each person’s role and institution. Supported areas include timetables, classrooms, holidays and Social workflows. Available tools depend on enabled features and permissions. Ask Lamp what it can do in your current workspace; unsupported actions remain in their normal Colyf screens.

Review changes before they happen

When Lamp proposes a change in Colyf, you review the action and confirm it before execution. Colyf checks permissions again when applying the change. A prompt cannot bypass those checks or grant access to another school. This makes the assistant a way to use existing authorised workflows, rather than a second source of permissions.

Private conversations on web and Android

Saved Colyf conversations belong to your account and selected institution and can be reopened across sessions. Other users, including ordinary school administrators, cannot browse your private Lamp conversation history. Colyf’s privacy notice explains information handling and support options.

Getting Lamp for your school

Lamp’s education integration is part of Colyf. Existing users sign in with their institution account. For a new school or university, contact The Code Lawyers about Colyf and the workflows you want to support. The standalone business chat setup is a separate integration; its tools and memory are not interchangeable with your Colyf account.
